StatueS

This series of statue portraits was begun in Copenhagen June of 2006. With these images I am attempting to portray the statues as the beings that they were first modelled on. I realize many statues are experienced these days more as objects, and less as a representation of a person. I am more interested in humanity than identitity in these pieces. 

"If all the statues in the world
Would turn to flesh with teeth of pearl
Would they be kind enough to comfort me"
